The Vietnam Consul General in Guangzhou Su Guojun, who took office last December, and his party of three visited Zhongshan recently. Chen Maohui, mayor of Zhongshan City, met them in the Zhongshan Expo. It is reported that the Vietnam delegation of 230 members will participate in the "3.28" Investment and Trade Fair.

According to the mayor, the economic trade association between Zhongshan and Vietnam has been reinforced in recent years. Last year the volume of trade between Zhongshan and Vietnam increased greatly, with a total of 1.4 billion US dollars. The trade cooperation has yielded heartening fruits. Mayor Chen indicated that Zhongshan hope to strengthen the friendship between Zhongshan and Vietnam with the increasing economic development of Vietnam. The enterprises in Zhongshan may explore the market in ASEAN by cooperation with Vietnam.
