The 2022 China industrial cooperation summit for MICE (meeting, incentive, convention/conference and expo/exhibition) cities took place in Chengdu on November 22. The 2021 China MICE City Competitiveness Index was released, and Zhongshan was listed among China's 2021 10 Most Competitive MICE Cities (Prefecture Level).

According to the 2021 China Urban MICE Industry Competitiveness Index Report, the top 10 cities in the overall ranking of MICE industry competitiveness index are Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Changsha, Nanjing and Wuhan; and China's most competitive MICE cities (prefecture level) in 2021 are Suzhou, Wuxi, Foshan, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Changzhou, Zhongshan, Linyi, Wenzhou and Yangzhou.

The index analyzed 671 local government policies for MICE development from 153 cities in China. According to the 2021 China Urban MICE Industry Competitiveness Index Report, Zhongshan ranks above its peers in terms of MICE talent competitiveness, enterprise competitiveness and infrastructure competitiveness.
