Zhongshan's Cuiheng New District released the Implementation Measures on Further Supporting the High-quality Development of Entrepreneurship for Hong Kong and Macao Youth on July 17.
The document includes 12 specific measures for enterprises and young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao that have moved into the innovation and entrepreneurship bases recognized by the Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, in terms of recruitment, start-up funding, rent and etc.
The document mentions to provide support to enterprises in intern recruitment. For each college student from Hong Kong and Macao, or student studying in colleges and universities in Hong Kong and Macao, it recruits as an intern for at least 3 months, the start-up (in a recognized innovation and entrepreneurship base, similarly hereinafter) will be granted a subsidy of 3,000 yuan, with a maximum amount of 30,000 yuan per year.
The document encourages start-ups to hire youth from Hong Kong and Macao. For each employee having signed a labor contract for more than 1 year and having been covered the social insurance for more than 6 months, the employer will be eligible for a subsidy of 5,000 yuan, with a maximum amount of 25,000 yuan per year.
Each operating start-up, founded and registered by Hong Kong and Macao youth for at least 6 months, will be eligible for a one-time subsidy of 10,000 yuan.
The document also mentions to provide a comprehensive set of preferential subsidies to eligible young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao and projects, in terms of rent exemption, project incentive, venture fund, employment, housing, services and organizing activities. For example, startup projects will be eligible for rent remission for at most 3 years.
