Huangpu has earned new achievement in the process of building a famous cultural town. Recently, it has been awarded the title as “China’s Historical Cultural Town”, which had never been given to any towns of Zhongshan before. Meanwhile, the unveiling ceremony was also hold.

Lusts of things were done in Huangpu town , such as publishing the book called Historical culture of Huangpu, declaring a number of municipal cultural relics protection units, immovable cultural relic units and historical construction units, successfully declaring the Huangpu Piaose, Huangpu unicorn dance and traditional hand-making craft of Huangpu preserved ham as the Guangdong intangible heritage. Currently, more efforts are spent in the protection work of historical streets, constructions and cultural relics in Huangpu.
