Xiaolan has become the largest LED packing base in China since the largest LED packaging enterprise of China, MLS Co., Ltd and the largest LED packaging enterprise of Taiwan Everlight Electronics., Ltd settled in Xiaolan Town in 2010. The production of these two enterprises greatly promotes the industrial development in the town with more than 200 LED enterprises, and the expected output value will be 5 billion yuan in 2011.

Focusing on LED new light source industry development, Xiaolan Town actively introduced and attracted some major enterprises to settle in. MLS Co., Ltd invested 1.6 billion yuan with an area of 180,000 m2 and expected output value of 1.5 billion yuan and Everlight Electronics., Ltd invested US$500 million yuan with an area of 36,000 m2 and expected output value of 0.35 billion Yuan.

The town won the honor of “Guangdong Hi-tech Application Industry Base of New Light Source”, “The International Science and Technology Cooperation Base of Semiconductor Illumination Industry” and “Guangdong Model Town of Green Lighting” in 2010. Moreover, the town puts efforts to create more favorable environment for the LED industry development, such as investing more than 10 million yuan to establish a public service platform of LED industrial development which is one of the most overall public service platform of LED industrial development in Guangdong, 1.3 billion yuan to establish a commercial town, China Jiuzhou Town, by combining products display, trade, information exchanging and logistics, setting up Xiao’lan LED Industry Technology Institute with South China Normal University to solve technological problems and offering the LED lighting program in Xiaolan Jianbin Vocational School to train practical talents.

It is expected that the total industrial output value in Xiaolan Town will reach more than 20 billion yuan in 5 years.
