The hot summer did not deter the white-hot infrastructure construction and old town renovation that were going on in Banfu Town. On July12, an investigation team led by Mayor Chen Maohui went there to inspect the progress. After visiting construction sites, Mayor Chen expressed that the township government should take advantage of the location of Banfu Town to build the western bank district into a modern urban complex along the river.

In recent years, a large piece of 4600 mu land in the western bank has been acquired by the government to build a new urban center for new industries, modern logistics, headquarters, business and housing.

Chen pointed out that Banfu is blessed with a beautiful riverside environment, so the government should make a good use of it in its urban planning. The under-construction New Western Bank District should shoulder the responsibility to attract leading companies at home and abroad to develop modern service and help Banfu upgrade and transform its industries. To fulfill the task, the local government should beef up efforts on infrastructure construction.
