CCID Group Sichuan branch and CCID Consulting jointly released the list of "China's Top 500 of Town Economy and Top 50 in Western Areas for 2023" on August 22. A total of 81 organic towns in Guangdong made the list.

Twelve towns in Zhongshan are shortlisted, only after Dongguan, Guangzhou and Foshan in number. Xiaolan Town is ranked 17th nationwide and is the only town in Zhongshan that is among the top 100.

The threshold for the evaluation was that the general public budget revenue should be equal to or greater than 150 million yuan. Furthermore, the evaluation was conducted based on four aspects: economic strength, development level, industrial level, and consumption capacity.

As a prominent industrial hub in Zhongshan, Xiaolan boasts eight national industrial clusters, and nearly 1,000 industrial enterprises above designated size, accounting for approximately one-fifth of the city's total.

According to the list, Zhongshan's Xiaolan is ranked 17th nationwide, and Sanxiang, Dongfeng, Nantou, Tanzhou, Huangpu, Henglan, Guzhen, Gangkou, Sanjiao, Fusha and Banfu are 111th, 124th, 132nd, 140th, 165th, 208th, 217th, 275th, 284th, 434th and 495th, respectively.
