Every autumn and winter, as the weather starts to cool down, migratory birds embark on their southward journey. Black-headed gulls also fly thousands of miles to spend the winter in the warmer southern China.
On January 15, over the waters of the ShenZhong Link, a flock of black-headed gulls soared and glided above the surface of water, resembling white doves on the water. In Zhongshan, more than 290 species of birds have been recorded, including 23 nationally protected bird species.
