A proposal on Accelerating the Blue Line Planning and Establishing Harmonious Zhongshan is submitted to the incoming two municipal conferences.

The blue line is the geographical boundaries set by the city to protect and control the urban surface water, including rivers,lakes,reservoirs,canals and wetlands and so on. At present, the blue line is not clearly planned in Zhongshan.

However, Zhongshan has a coastline with a length of 59 kilometers and it will be extended to over 80 kilometers after the completion of Cuiheng New Area establishment. In addition, only 13.8 kilometers have been made use of for industry and fishing purposes and there is no coastline for citizens’ leisure and life usage.

Coastal areas and lines are one of the important part in ecological civilization establishment in Zhongshan because they are scare resources with great social, environmental and economic values. It is strongly recommended to establish a harmonious costal region between economy and environment, human bing and nature by fully taking advantage of the costal lines in Zhongshan.
