The Overseas Groups Woods at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park have its 134th member, an agilawood planted by members of Hawaii Chinese Society. The woods, planted in 2006, originally had 133 trees. This time, when members of Hawaii Chinese Society came back Zhongshan, they also wanted to plant a tree to express their nostalgic complex.
Hawaii Chinese Society was founded in 1884 with more than 90 sub-groups and was the most influential Chinese group in Honolulu. The society always supported the construction of China. Since 1957, it has organized an activity of model parents to award excellent local Chinese.
