Xie Shihua, director of the Zhongshan Water Resources Bureau, and his colleges took part in "Friday's Voice of People" last Friday and had interactive exchanges with netizens on such livelihood issues as flood prevention, preparedness of reservoirs, beautification of rivers and lakes, construction of greenways, and improvement of the water environment.

Xie Shihua said that according to the distribution pattern of rivers, Zhongshan plans to build 6 green corridors (riverside walkways) along Xijiang River Waterway, Xiaolan Waterway, Jiya Waterway, Hongqili Waterway, Qijiang River, and the eastern coastal waterway respectively. Among them, there are 4 rural ecological corridors, 1 urban walkway and 1 coastal greenway.

These green corridors will be constructed in 3 stages, and not less than 20 kilometers will be completed by the end of this year. In the near future, it will be necessary to speed up the construction of the Cuihu Park, Jinzhong Lake Park and Xiaolan Waterway green corridors.
