According to the Zhongshan Quarterly Ecological Environment Analysis Meeting, in the first 4 months, the city's air quality was effectively monitored for 120 days, of which 90%, or 108 days, were recorded as having good air quality.

Six major air pollutant indicators all met standards but all slightly increased over a year earlier. The comprehensive atmospheric environment index was 3.45, up 15.8% from the same period last year.

From January to February, Zhongshan's water quality ranked 6th in Guangdong Province. The soil quality of protected drinking water source areas in Zhongshan was good, but risk control measures should still be strengthened.
