June 5 marked World Environment Day. A live broadcast, with the theme of "Harmonious Coexistence between Human and Nature, Living a Green and Low Carbon Life", which was also part of the "2021 World Environment Day in Zhongshan" campaign, attracted 242,800 viewers.

The broadcast was promoted on both mobile phones and television and gave away many "red packets" of money. The stream showcased Zhongshan's construction achievements in building a low carbon city. Excellent works from the "Zhongshan Low Carbon Mascot Design Competition" and the "Low Carbon Family" Video Selection were also presented.

The live broadcast also premiered the "Environmentally Friendly Citizens Initiative" video. Citizens from all walks of life jointly launched an initiative to preserve Zhongshan's beautiful blue skies, green land and clear water by practicing a simple, conservative, green and low-carbon lifestyle.
