The Ministry of Ecology and Environment reported on the national ambient air quality from January to April on May 18.

In the first 4 months, 339 cities across China saw an average of 85.1% of days with "good air quality", up 1.3 % year-on-year. Among the 168 major cities, 20 cities including Lhasa, Haikou and Zhoushan had relatively good air quality, and Zhongshan ranked 13th.

In the first quarter of 2022, the number of days in Zhongshan which air quality reached the defined standards was 93.3%, up 3.3% from last year, and there was no weather with "moderate or more severe pollution".
