The 13 illegal farms in Fenghuangshan Mountain of Haochong Village, Shaxi Town were demolished on the morning of Feb. 17, involving an area of 4,000 square meters. Shaxi will spend six months in renovating the environment of Fenghuangshan Mountain, clear illegal livestock and poultry farms, and trashes to revive the ecological environment. The lanes leading to the mountain top will also be built and forest parks will be constructed.

To strengthen the prevention and control of pollution due to illegal livestock and poultry raising, Shaxi has been implementing remediation and clearance in different stages in recent years. The executive committee has been founded to ensure daily operation, clear division of responsibilities, and to disentangle the relationship between town and villages as well as that between villages, and hence effectively overcome the problems such as confused planning, irresponsible management, and unclear land ownership.
