A few days ago, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration announced the first batch of 3,947 national forest villages. A total of 228 villages in Guangdong Province made the list, while Guinan Village, located in Wuguishan District, Zhongshan City is one of them.
Guinan Village, was named after its location to the south of the main peak of Wugui Mountain, and is an ancient village inhabited by Hakka people. It has jurisdiction over five natural villages, namely Maxi, Shebei, Qixi, Shijing and Tian Xin, with an area of 19.6 square kilometers. The cottages here are built against the mountain, and this place is rich in green bamboos. The mountain range is rich in sweet groundwater and the villagers have the habit of drinking the mountain spring water.
In recent years, thanks to the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, this ancient village has quietly taken on a new look and has become a beautiful ecological representative for Wuguishan District and even the whole Zhongshan city.
