On August 25, a 200-year-old council tree (Ficus altissima) at the Tanggan Twelve Warriors Park in Sanxiang Town, received an insurance slip as a gift. Up to now, all 104 registered ancient and famous trees in Sanxiang have been fully insured, with a total insurance amount of 5.2 million yuan.
"All the eight ancient trees in Tanggan Village, including the council tree, have been insured. The protection measure helps boost rural revitalization", said Huang Zhenbang, general Party secretary of Tanggan Village.
There are 104 registered ancient and famous trees in Sanxiang, including one Grade-2 tree (300-399 years old) and 103 Grade-3 trees (100-299 years old). Among them, 83 are banyan trees, in addition to kohlran, camphor tree, Bischofia javanica, longan, Aphanamixis polystachya, and oak trees.
