“Ecologic Zhongshan” activity organized by Zhongshan Forestry Bureau, Zhongshan Environmental Protection Bureau and Tanzhou Town government was held to commemorate 2010 World Wetlands Day on 2nd Feb.. Staff in related units and reporters went to Tanzhou Dachongkou Mangroves and Hekou Tantu Wetlands to cover the current protection situation. It is delightedly found that the once scarce mangroves begin to grow thrivingly and the once spoiled wetlands are brought to life.
Wetland, forest and sea are three ecosystems of the global, and they are considered as “Kidney of the Earth”, “Natural Reservoirs” and “Natural Species Bank” respectively. The theme of 2010 World Wetlands Day is “Wetlands, Biodiversity and Climate change”. Therefore, it is essential for us to work together to establish a city with favorable ecology, rich life, good environment and people living in harmony with nature.
