Zhongshan's first micro air monitoring station with LED panel was installed in Zhongshan Jiguan No.2 Kindergarten on May 31. A science popularization activity was also held there on the same day.
"The station can continuously monitor the air quality of the surrounding areas all day long, and the LED screen can display relevant measurement data in real time," said Tan Zhaoteng, deputy chief of the Atmosphere and Climate Change Division of the Zhongshan Bureau of Ecology and Environment.
The station can monitor six atmospheric parameters including PM2.5, PM10, nitric oxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and ozone in real time.
At present, Zhongshan has built a environmental air quality grid monitoring system consisting of 9 standard air quality monitoring stations and over 300 micro stations.
