Zhongshan has fully started the creation of "waste-free" city cells, and will create the first 43 city-level "waste-free" city cells this year to push forward the construction of a "waste-free" city.

According to the relevant documents released by the Zhongshan Bureau of Ecology and Environment, "waste-free" city cells include "waste-free" industrial parks, factories, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, parks, schools and etc.

"Waste-free" city cells are created on a voluntary and selective basis and under the principles of openness, fairness and justice. Each year a number of industrial parks, factories, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, parks and schools with remarkable achievements in creating "waste-free" city cells will be awarded.

The relevant departments is calling for applicants to create "waste-free" city cells from the society, and approved ones will be entitled to certain preferential policies and financial support.
