The Gangkou Smart Household Garbage Sorting Station was put into use recently. It is divided into garbage disposal area for residents, garbage disposal area for merchants, and staff area.

The garbage disposal areas, equipped with 9 waste sorting devices, a intelligent robot and an education device, can realize garbage disposal supervision, garbage sorting knowledge education, garbage weighing, and data collection and summarization with AI recognition technology.

"Data collected through these devices can help us accurately understand the daily amount of garbage generated by each merchant. Meanwhile, we have established a complete data collection system to analyze the statistics as well as to know more about the generation trend and distribution of garbage," said an official with the urban construction and administration department of Gangkou Town.
