Last year, Zhongshan's first industrial carbon-based green island project settled in Shenwan Town. It is expected to be put into use within 2024, providing comprehensive VOCs control services for enterprises.
On March 19, at the project site located on Waisha Gongye Avenue, the construction was in full swing.
"Facilities currently under construction include spent activated carbon regeneration workshops, temporary warehouses for hazardous wastes and the R&D building," said Wang Haishui, general manager of Guangdong Huide Technology Co.
The Zhongshan Industrial Carbon-based Green Island project is invested by Guangdong Huide Technology Co, with a total investment of approximately 530 million yuan. Its planned production capacity is about 300,000 tons per year, annual output value about 1.5 billion yuan and annual tax revenue about 60 million yuan. It will also create 150 new jobs.
The project will be constructed in two phases. After reaching the design capacity, it is expected to help reduce VOCs emissions by 43,000 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 660,000 tons per year.
Besides, the Mingfeng Meiju project in Shenwan Town is under smooth construction and is expected to open for use this year.
The project occupies a land area of 17.3 mu, with a building area of 30,000 square meters and a total investment of 200 million yuan. It is expected to produce 100,000 pieces of household goods with an output value of over 200 million yuan per year. The products will be exported to North America and gradually to the domestic market.
