The first pilot community-based domestic garbage classification model site in Gangkou Town was put into use in Poly Yifang Garden on April 22.

The community implements "four measures" for garbage classification: carrying out household garbage classification publicity activities, removing scattered trash cans and setting up garbage sorting stations in the community, conducting garbage disposal supervision, and collecting and delivering kitchen waste separately.

Gangkou Town will set up pilot garbage classification sites in 12 communities by September this year, and the experience will be promoted to other communities, said a Gangkou Bureau of Urban Management, Housing and Urban-rural Development, Agriculture and Rural Affairs officer.

According to an officer of the Zhongshan Bureau of Urban Management and Law Enforcement, garbage classification will be widely carried out across the city this year, and 300 residential communities will implement the "four measures" before the end of the year.
