Recently, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Ministry of Water Resources issued a joint note of commendation in recognition of 80 National Advanced Units, 31 National Model Workers and 169 National Outstanding Workers in Water Conservancy Sector. Zhongshan Water Conservancy Bureau was awarded National Advanced Unit.


In recent years, Zhongshan Water Conservancy Bureau have been exerting efforts in promoting engineering construction concerning reduction and prevention of natural disasters in rural and urban areas, focusing on building river dikes. Even in frequent occurrence of natural disasters, there is no casualty in Zhongshan and all the water conservancy facilities are accident-free. Since 2004, 1.24 billion yuan has been invested to renovate inland river course, highlighting conservation, configuration and protection of water resources. The past seven years witnessed consecutive salt tide or drought in winter or spring, but the water supply in Zhongshan has been secured to the full extent.
