The Zhongshan Municipal Civilization Committee convened its second working conference yesterday. Mayor Chen Liangxian expressed that the cultivation of civilization is an ongoing mission that will never end. It is a labor for the people and by the people; it needs the participation of people from all walks of life to contribute their energy and passion to make the title “National Civilized City” stay with Zhongshan forever. Director Tang Ying of the Publicity Department presided over the meeting.

On Feb. 28, Zhongshan was awarded as a National Civilized City, an honorary title for cities that perform well in economic development, political stability and spiritual civilization. Zhongshan has won the award four times running.
