On Aug. 26, 2012, local time, the 9th Worldwide Zhognshan Association Convention was held in Millbrae in San Francisco Bay Area.

Li Haifeng, director of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, sent a congratulatory letter to the convention. The convention is sponsored by Yeong Wo Association and supported by many associations including Chung Chung Alumni Association in San Francisco and Tung Sen Benevolent Association. Distinguished guests include Gao Zhansheng, Consul General of China’s Consulate-general in San Francisco, Wu Ruicheng, director of Guangdong Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Chen Maohui, Major of Zhongshan, Li Mengxian, Major of San Francisco, and Ma Jingquan, chairman of Yeong Wo Association. More than 1,000 people from 16 countries and regions attended the social gathering.
