Yat-sen and the 1911 Revolution

A seminar on Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the 1911 Revolution was organized on Sep. 7 at Changjiang Hotel in Cuiheng Village. Over 100 experts and scholars from Tai Wan, Hong Kong, Macau and the mainland of China, took part in the seminar. The Cuiheng Forum is of special significance to have a seminar on Dr. Sun Yat-sen with the approaching of the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution.

To understand Guangdong’s orientation in the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution

Guangdong has an inseparable historic relationship with the 1911 Revolution because it served as a bridge at that time to connect Chinese people domestic and abroad. It is significant not only politically, but also economically, and culturally. With the coming of the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution, we should ponder deeply on how to make use of this relationship to fuel Guangdong’s development.




   
Only when everybody does his own contribution, can the society advance

Sun Yat-sen spirit is of modern value: on the one hand, it emphasizes equality among all nationalities and the reunification of the country; on the other hand, it focuses on the happiness of livelihood and the wealth of the country.




Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s ideas on national defense is of modern value

In 1924, Dr. Sun Yat-sen planned to establish Huangpu Military College. This is an important event in modern military history. It reflected Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s ideas on national defense and military affairs. He wants to explore a new road combining politics, economy, military and education.




Let Zhongshan further embodies Dr. Sun Yat-sen spirit

100 years ago, Dr. Sun Yat-sen led other revolutionary pioneers to overthrow the Qing Dynasty and establish the first republic in Asia. The invincible spirit and never-say-never attitude of the pioneers gain a lot of respect from Chinese people. 
Now Zhongshan’s puts people’s livelihood in the first place of its development and this is in line with Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s spirit.




Sun Yat-sen Culture is an important research topic

To promote Sun Yat-sen Culture can be a driving force for Zhongshan’s economic development and social advances.




Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s ideas on nationalism foresees the future of the unity of Taiwan and mainland

As a delegate from Taiwan, I think Cuiheng Forum is really a good name. It’s very creative and can be used for discussions on various topics in the future. From Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s ideas on nationalism, we can see the future trend of the unity of Taiwan and mainland.
