On Jan. 16th, the Sun Yat-sen Research Institute held its annual meeting in Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall to retrospect the work of 2010 and arrange the work of 2011. All the members have been mobilized to work on the depth and width of their research so as to bring forth more quality works. Emphasis is suggested to be put on the application of the research results.
As is introduced by the president Yang Hai, 2011 is the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution, so the research institute decides to launch a series of activities on this theme: to hold a symposium on Xiangshan oversea Chinese and the 1911 Revolution, to publish a series of books in memorization of the 1911 Revolution, to hold a gallery exhibition of Xiangshan oversea Chinese and the 1911 Revolution, to set up web pages in the official website of the city government (www.zs.gov.cn) on Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the 1911 Revolution, to start a column in the oversea edition of Zhongshan Daily on Xiangshan oversea Chinese and the 1911 Revolution, and to organize a Macau trip for members to conduct researches on Sun Yat-sen’s life in Macau. With these activities, the institute hopes to promote the research on Dr. Sun Yat-sen and popularize the 1911 Revolution.
