Yesterday, the reporter group of overseas Chinese newspapers arrived in Zhongshan. The group is to interview and report on the situation of Zhongshan’s livelihood. Mayor Chen Maohui met with the reporters and introduced to them the rapid progress Zhongshan made in industrial transformation and upgrading.

As the hometown of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, Zhongshan made a good use of the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution to quicken up its pace of transforming and upgrading: to launch the construction of New Cuiheng District so as to transform Zhongshan from a riverside city to seaside city; to inject 34.3 billion yuan to develop transportation; to promote the transformation and upgrading of 100 foreign companies, to enhance the competitiveness of 100 domestic companies, to introduce 100 quality enterprises, and to realize investment programs worth of 400 billion yuan; to develop the tourism resources of areas neighboring Cuiheng village; to make Cuiheng village a famous international tourism town; to put in 6 billion yuan carrying out the clear-water project.
