According to Zhongshan National and Provincial Artery Planning Draft (2016-2030) announced by Zhongshan Highway Bureau on Jan. 16, one new national highway and four provincial will be built in Zhongshan. Till 2030, Zhongshan will have eight national or provincial highways altogether and finish the 400km road map of five vertical and three horizontal highway networks.

The completion of the network will make sure that every township will have at least one national or provincial artery, realize the all-coverage of national or provincial highways across Zhongshan, uplift the position of Zhongshan as the integrated traffic hub on the West Bank of Pearl River, and strengthen the communication with the surrounding cities.
