The management center of Tourism Area of Sun Yat-sen's Hometown announced on November 16 that the former residence of Sun Yat-sen in the Museum of Dr Sun Yat-sen would be put in maintenance from November 15, 2019.
For the safety of the tourists and cultural relics, the former residence of Sun Yat-sen will be temporarily closed until the maintenance is completed. The opening time will be announced separately. Other areas of the Museum of Dr Sun Yat-sen will remain open as usual.
The former residence of Sun Yat-sen is a two-storey, brick-wood building blending Chinese and Western styles, with a wall encircling the courtyard. It was designed and rebuilt by Sun Yat-sen at the age of 26. He lived, studied, practiced medicine, discussed state affairs with his friends, and drafted the famous letter to Li Hongzhang in this house.
