During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the first episode of CCTV documentary "Ivens on China" was aired on CCTV-9. Stories about Sun Yat-sen, a great forerunner of China's democratic revolution, and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School are told in the second half of the episode.
"Ivens on China" revisits the China-themed documentary shot by Dutch director Joris Ivens, presenting the backstories and characters of his documentary to tell of the Western director's love for China, and presenting the historical changes of China over decades.
Joris Ivens, was respected internationally for his documentary films, and he made over 60 films in his career of over 60 years. For over 5 decades, Ivens recorded China, bringing its stories to the world. He was recognized as "an old friend of the Chinese people".
