As one of the key cultural and tourism exchange projects among
the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao in 2019, the large-scale symphonic suite
"Sun Yat-sen" will be staged at the Macao Cultural Center on the evening of
December 30.
This will be the premiere of "Sun Yat-sen" in Macao.
It is a tribute to the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to the Motherland and
aims to power the construction of a cultural Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater
Bay Area.
Qiu Shuhong, vice-chairman of the Guangdong Writers'
Association and chairman of the CPPCC Zhongshan Committee, is the
creator-in-chief, general director and writer-in-chief of "Sun Yat-sen". The
symphonic suite is composed by Liu Changan and Du Ming, renowned Guangdong
composers.
"Sun Yat-sen" has been translated into English,
Japanese and other languages and successively performed in Guangzhou, Zhongshan,
Beijing, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Taipei. It has been highly praised
by all sectors of society and Chinese at home and abroad.
"Sun
Yat-sen" is divided into 10 movements. It praises the great achievements of a
great man and conveys deep national emotions in the form of
symphony.
The show will be performed by nearly 200 artists from
such teams as Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra, Zhongshan Chorus and Zhongshan
Teachers Chorus to disseminate Sun Yat-sen Culture.
