Let reading breeds innovation. The 2016 South China Book Festival (Zhongshan Session) and 8th Zhongshan Book Fair was held in Zhongshan Expo Center yesterday, lasting till August 23rd. With the theme of Happy reading and cultivating yourself, the fair is hosted by the Municipal Party Committee and People’s Government and undertaken by Publicity Department of the Municipal Party Committee, Zhongshan Daily Newspaper Group, Zhongshan Broadcasting and Television Station. Tang Yin, member of the Standing Committee of Municipal Party Committee and director of Zhongshan Publicity Department, attends the opening ceremony. Launched at the same time are The Complete Works of Fang Zheng (vol.1), selection of Top 10 Book-loving Families, 2nd Poetry Contest of Primary School Students and Stamp Collection Album of Sketches of Zhongshan.

There book fair consists of several zones including Book Reading, Education Demonstration, Cultural Industry, Creative Culture, Cultural Activity and Welfare Activity. The Book Reading zone occupies an area of 6,000 square meters, with stalls set by members of Zhongshan Publishing and Distributing Industry Association as well as publishing groups and units from other cities. The Cultural Industry zone covers an area of 2,000 square meters, presenting cultural products, education training, digital products, handicrafts, calligraphy, paintings, etc. Zhongshan Publishing house presents original publication with a area of 600 square meters, aiming at building an industrial brand of local culture in Zhongshan .
