The friendship between Sun Yat-sen and his Japanese friend, Umeya Shokichi has become a favourite topic in the histories of the 1911 Revolution and folk friendship between China and Japan. A century passed, this story has won great attention in Umeya Shokichi’s hometown—Nagasaki and has been written in middle school textbooks in Japan.
In order to let more Japanese know about the story and strengthen the friendship between Chinese and Japanese, a group let by Izumi Fuji from Nagasaki came to visit Zhongshan City yesterday. Izumi Fuji said, the story between Sun Yat-sen and Umeya Shokichi has been written in middle school textbook in Nagasaki, and a large exhibition entitled “Sun Yat-sen, Umeya Shokichi and Nagasaki” would be held from October 1 this year to March 25, 2012 as one of the memorial activities for the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution in Japan.
It is reported that this exhibition which has been supported by Beijing, Shanghai, and Wuhan, would be larger, and the historical materials would be more sufficient than the previous one “Sun Yat-sen and Umeya Shokichi”.Meanwhile, the exhibition will be cooperated with Zhongshan City, Sun Yat-sen’s hometown.
