During the upcoming lunar New Year and Spring Festival Holiday, people in Zhongshan could enjoy and participate in about a hundred cultural and recreational activities right in the city.

The festival celebration will kick off with a Singing and Dancing Performance, Peking Opera Show and Karaoke Contest in the Culture and Art Center from the first to the third day of the Lunar New year. On the fourth day is a folk music concert presented by China National Orchestra of Guangdong Sing and Dance Theatre, followed by a Jazz Night co-performed by young musicians Guan Xuchong and Yin Yu on the fifth day. A pictures exhibition of rare animals, a butterfly exhibition and an exhibit of painting and calligraphy will be held in various museums in Zhongshan as well. Movies like Roman Holidays are free in the Municipal Library.

In the towns, traditional way to celebrate the festival is still thriving, so nostalgic people can have a folk art evening or enjoy breathtaking dragon and lion dance.
