The launching activities for Provincial Tourism Year for Overseas Chinese are to open in Shaxi Town during April 30th to May 3rd, including folk arts performance, rosewood furniture exhibition, local products with Zhongshan feature and delicacies promotion. The tourism year will last till the end of this year.

Zhongshan is the ancestral hometown of more than 800,000 overseas Chinese and compatriots in Hong Kong and Macao, covering more than 90 countries and regions. With abundant resources of overseas Chinese, the city designs many tourism routes themed with the famous cultural and celebrities elements. Moreover, the city attracts more overseas Chinese for sightseeing in Zhongshan by taking the occasion of three grand activities from May to November, including Shanghai World Expo, Guangzhou Asian Games and Sun Yat-sen Cultural Week.
