With the theme of “Prelude to water melody with a great variety of fruits”, the 2010 Lingnan Watertown Tourism Festival grandly opened in Minzhong Town, Zhongshan on 26th, attracting many Chinese and foreign tourists. It not only introduces various ecological tourism routes, cultural activities and local flavors but also provides an important platform to promote Zhongshan brands and display a dynamic image of Minzhong

The festival will last till 4th October, including six activities: the opening ceremony, fruits and vegetables Carnival, sports meeting, famous dishes selection, Zhongshan in foreigners’ eyes and tourism routes.

According to Deputy Mayor Tan Pei’an, tourism has made annual increase of 16% in the past ten years and the festival this time aims to realize double win between economic benefits and cultural benefits by focusing on local fruits and vegetables. It will greatly promote town tourism, establish casual tourism brands in towns and accelerate development of tourism industry in Zhongshan by displaying tourism cultural features and local flavors of water town in Minzhong.
