In the morning of Mar. 21 local time, Chen Xiongfeng (central), counselor and consul general of Chinese Embassy in the United States, met the reporting team assigned to the U.S and Canada, and highly complimented the large scale overseas news-gathering activity “Overseas Chinese and the Centenary of China’s 1911 Revolution”.
It is reported that the Chinese Embassy in the United States, which started preparations last year, also attach great importance to the Centenary of China’s 1911 Revolution. Painting and calligraphy exhibitions and culture festivals commemorating the 1911 Revolution are launched in succession, and a website column is opened by the propaganda office of the embassy to promote Sun Yat-sen and the 1911 Revolution led by him. The embassy will host the 10th Annual Convention of China Peaceful Reunification Association of United States and Forum Commemorating the “Centenary of China’s 1911 Revolution”. It is learned that China Peaceful Reunification Association of United States is the nation wide unification and coordination organization in the United States, which has 15 member groups spreading all over 7 metropolitan regions in the U.S.
Liu Pingzhong, Chairman of Chinese Society Confederation in Washington, revealed that Library of Congress will join hands with University of Maryland and Asian Wenhua College to organize large scale activities aiming at American mainstream society to commemorate the Centenary of China’s 1911 Revolution.
