'Chrysanthemum Embroidery' appears in HK exhibition

An exhibition on home fellow culture organized by the Home Affairs Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government opened at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on July 6.


The exhibition displays about exhibits related to 300 national, provincial and municipal intangible cultural heritage programs, including Duan inkstone, porcelain, cloisonne products, bronze drum, iron painting, Ding kiln, Thangka painting, silkfigure, as well as various embroideries, brocades, sculptures, bronzeware technology, national costumes, and more. 


The Federation of Hong Kong Zhongshan Community Organizations participated in the preparation of this exhibition and assisted the Federation of Hong Kong Guangdong Community Organisations in setting up the Zhongshan exhibition booth, which introduces Zhongshan to Hong Kong residents through pictures and texts. The exhibit "Chrysanthemum Embroidery" presented by Zhongshan attracted many visitors.


"Chrysanthemum embroidery", or Xiaolan Embroidery, is a traditional artistic handicraft originating in the Pearl River Delta. It made the fifth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage program list in 2013.
