Zhongshan held an event on June 10 to mark China's Cultural and Natural Heritage Day at the Zhongshan Culture & Art Center. It was also the 4th East District Golden Dragon Cultural Festival.
At the opening ceremony, the organizer issued plaques to the tenth batch of representative intangible cultural heritage items in Zhongshan, including the Story of Chen Tianjue. The tour map of intangible cultural heritage in Zhongshan was also released, which covers all the intangible cultural heritage-related attractions in the city.
A parade took place, which featured the 63-meter-long Qiwan Golden Dragon, in addition to such cultural activities as a Huangpu Lion Dance show, a Golden Dragon-themed street dance flash mobbing, and the Zhongshan Folk Song & Music Competition.
Meanwhile, a special intangible cultural heritage bazaar was organized with dozens of stalls showcasing various ICH items in Zhongshan. Shiqi Pigeon dishes cooking skills, Qiwan Golden Dragon-themed ice pops, Xiaolan paper-cuttings… The bazaar attracted flocks of visitors from Zhongshan and neighboring cities.
Sanjiao Kylin Dance, Juxiangyuan Almond Cake, Zhongshan Ivory Carving, Fusha Single Farm Boat Race, Changzhou Drunken Dragon Dance…Intangible cultural heritage designs and books were displayed at the intangible cultural heritage-themed Xiangshan Study in Zhongshan Cultural Center, giving the public an access to intangible cultural heritage.
With the theme of "Promoting Intangible Cultural Heritage, Guarding Common Spiritual Home", a salon was held at the Xiangshan Study. Experts were invited to discuss the facts and documentary records of intangible cultural heritage preservation in Guangdong and Zhongshan.
