Wang Xi, vice governor of Guangdong Province, on March 4 visited Zhongshan to investigate such fields as education, science and technology, industry and information, high-tech zone construction. He also convened a symposium to hear work reports from relevant local departments.

Wang Xi investigated the Zhongshan Tsuihang New District Planning Exhibition Center, the construction site of the Biomedicine Intelligent Center, the Zhongshan Institute for Drug Discovery, the Institutes of Drug Discovery and Development, CAS, the Sinoscience Fullcryo (Zhongshan) Ultra-low Temperature Science Park and Zhongshan Aiscent Technology Co Ltd. He also visited the construction site of Zhongshan University of Science and Technology and Shiqi No.1 Primary School.

Wang Xi stressed that Zhongshan should develop unique industries including biological medicine and electro-optic display, speed up the construction of a cluster district for advanced equipment manufacturing on the west bank of the Pearl River, promote the in-depth integration of production, education and research, gather top talent, and attract talented persons from overseas to provide intellectual support for the innovation-driven development.
