Shenzhen Qianhai, Tsuihang New District seek joint development

The Development and Reform Commission of Shenzhen Municipality recently issued a public bidding announcement on a joint development and construction plan among Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone and Zhongshan's Tsuihang New District and Dongguan's Binhaiwan Bay Area, which releases a new signal of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan interactive development.


According to the announcement, research project applicants must be colleges or universities, scientific research institutes, large enterprises, industry associations, international organizations, consulting agencies, and other eligible institutions or organizations. Individual applications will not be accepted. Joint research projects by interdisciplinary expert teams are encouraged.


Research projects should be have a broad vision and be future-orientated as well as consider the possible future development trends of the industry. Research results should also be systemic, comprehensive, and contain rich supporting evidence. The content of thse projects may include, but are not limited to; the status and existing challenges of cooperation among Shenzhen, Dongguan and Zhongshan, analysis of new development opportunities and challenges, comparative analysis of domestic and foreign regional cooperation experience, and dialogues on the mechanisms, conception and measures supporting the cooperation of the three places.


Currently Zhongshan is strengthening its cooperation with Shenzhen. This November, Guo Wenhai, secretary of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, visited Tsuihang New District and urged THND to build itself as a pillar in Zhongshan's participation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area construction.


At present, Shenzhen and Zhongshan are accelerating dialogues on the construction of a Shenzhen-Zhongshan Industrial Expansion Corridor. Cooperation between the two places is expected to grow tighter, and the construction of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge is also progressing steadily.
