In November 2021, Zhongshan's Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 2.1% year-on-year, 0.4 percentage points more than a month earlier. From January to November, Zhongshan's CPI increased by 1.1% over the same period of 2020.
Compared with last November, food prices increased by 0.6% and non-food prices rose by 2.4%. The price of consumption goods went up by 2.9%, and service prices rose by 0.5%. The prices of food, tobacco and alcohol increased by 1.0% year-on-year, of which the price of fresh vegetables rose by 18.3%. The price of seafood increased by 8.1%, the price of cooking oil rose by 14.9%, while the price of livestock meat decreased by 22.4%, with the price of pork down 31.9%.
Compared with this October, Zhongshan's CPI was stable. Food, tobacco and alcohol prices rose by 0.3%. Thanks to favorable weather conditions and the increasing supplies of vegetables, concerns of food shortages were alleviated. Therefore, the price of fresh vegetables rose by only 1.7%, down 11.5 percentage points from the previous month.
