A China-Brazil Customs Mutual AEO Recognition Pact will be implemented starting January 1, 2022. This is China's second Customs Mutual AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) Recognition program in South America after Chile.
After the implementation, 5 preferential policies will be enacted for the customs of China and Brazil for goods from each other's AEO certificated enterprises, including lower document review rate and lower inspection rate of imported goods.
A total of 115 AEO certificated companies under the jurisdiction of Gongbei Customs (Zhuhai and Zhongshan) will enjoy these preferential policies.
A spokesperson for Gongbei Customs said that at present, nearly 100 enterprises are interested in applying for AEO certification.
By the end of 2021, mutual recognition agreements have been made by China on AEOs with 47 countries and regions including Singapore, South Korea and the European Union.
