In the first quarter of 2022, Zhongshan Customs issued about 21,000 certificates of origin for export enterprises in Zhongshan for goods with a value exceeding 7.5 billion yuan, an increase of more than 5% year-on-year. The products mainly included machinery and instruments, household appliances, lighting products, furniture, steel products, plastic products, etc.
Among the issued C/Os, about 14,000 preferential certificates of origin were issued for Free Trade Agreement regions, valued at nearly 5 billion yuan, an increase of nearly 13% year-on-year. It is estimated that over 320 million yuan in preferential tariffs were received from importing countries.
In recent years, Zhongshan Customs has continuously optimized C/O services for export goods. In the first quarter of 2022, Zhongshan Customs issued about 14,000 self-printed certificates of origin, an increase of about 86% year-on-year. At present, there are 18 kinds of certificates of origin available for self-service printing.
On January 1, 2022, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the China-Cambodia Free Trade Agreement came into effect simultaneously. So far, 18 free trade agreements have been implemented in China. On April 7, an upgraded China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement took effect, which further improved the quality and efficiency of trade between the two countries.
