The 2022 Zhongshan (Guangdong, China) Overseas Doctoral and Postdoctoral Innovation Competition (ZSODPIC) has kicked off recently. The competition focusing on next-gen information technology and health/biomedicine sectors is open to doctoral and postdoctoral graduates overseas.
Registration has started and is currently open to overseas doctorate and post-doctorate candidates who intend to return to China for innovation and entrepreneurship and whose projects have not yet been initiated. Eligible project teams include those in which at least 1 technical R&D director or core member has overseas postdoctoral research experience, has obtained a doctoral degree overseas, or is studying for a doctoral degree overseas.
There are 2 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals in this competition, with cash prizes of 100,000 yuan, 50,000 yuan, and 30,000 yuan respectively. Additional prizes will be awarded to finalists. For prize-winning projects which settle in ZOS-Park, a one-time matching subsidy according to competition prize will be given.
In addition, the winning projects will be given up to 2 million yuan as start-up funds and up to 48 rent-free months in ZOS-Park. Winning team members with doctorate degrees who move to Zhongshan will be directly selected for the reserve youth talent pool in Zhongshan and enjoy beneficial policies in terms of financial support for individuals and groups who start businesses in Zhongshan.
