Zhongshan plans to invest 100 million yuan in the near future to carry out automobile consumption promotion activities.

Warm-up activities starts from the May Day holiday, and citizens can apply for subsidies through the "中山乐购" WeChat applet starting from May 20. These activities will last until the end of this year.

There will be subsidies across three categories including "direct purchase of new autos", "exchanging old for new vehicles" and "exchanging motorcycles for automobiles", and all purchases will be subsidized based on the prices of new automobiles.

The "direct purchase of new auto" subsidy entails a one time subsidy of 1,000 yuan to 12,000 yuan; the "exchanging old for new" subsidy supports selling or scrapping used cars to purchase new energy vehicles, giving a one-time subsidy of 3,000 yuan to 13,000 yuan; while the "exchanging motorcycle for automobile" subsidy supports the scrapping of motorcycles with a service life of 6 years or longer for new automobiles under the premise of giving up their motorcycle licenses, and one will be given a one-time subsidy of 9,000 yuan to 22,000 yuan.
