Some 20,000 doses of Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine (23-valent) (PPSV23), donated by Yuxi Watson Biotechnology Co Ltd, were delivered to the cold storage of the Zhongshan CDC on the morning of May 10.

This batch of vaccines will be distributed to 9 towns and districts including Torch Development Zone, East District, Shiqi District, Shaxi Town, Nanlang District, Gangkou Town, Nantou Town, Sanxiang Town and Wuguishan District within this week. Vaccination will start after the delivery of vaccines.

As of April 30, nearly 50,000 elderly residents aged 60 and above in Zhongshan had signed up for vaccination.
