Rainstorms hit the southern part of Zhongshan on May 11, and light to moderate rains in other areas.

By press time, more than 11,000 persons had been assigned to join emergency flood fighting tasks and rescued and evacuted 27,029 residents in need.

During the period, staff of government departments together with civil servants and militiamen in towns and districts joined forces to fight the rainstorms and protect people's life and property.
